Make a birds nest craft

In April the nesting season is well on the way. If you look in your gardens or while you are out on your daily exercise walk you might see birds carrying nesting materials in their beaks.


To make your own birds nest you will need

Natural materials such as

1. Dried grass
2. twigs
3. moss
4. straw
5. hair from your hair brush
6. feathers

If you do not have access to natural materials you can use things from around your house such as:

1. wool
2. news paper
3. scrap paper
4. cardboard
5. string 

Instructions

Step One
Start by gathering your nest building materials. Remember if you are gathering natural materials from outside to adhere to government social distancing guidelines. Only take discarded items from nature don't pick living wild plants.


Step Two
Once you have assembled your materials watch these videos of birds making their nests and look at how they do it.
